SAN BENITO COUNTY OIL AND GAS WELL ORDINANCE WENT THROUGH A LAST MINUTE CHANGE ON LAST TUESDAY. DURING THE FINAL MOMENTS OF THE LENGTHY DISCUSSION, SUPERVISOR JERRY MUENZER CALLED FOR A CHANGE IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE ORDINANCE.  THIS SUPPOSEDLY MEANS THAT POTENTIAL OIL WELL DRILLERS WOULD GET A 15 THOUSAND DOLLAR BOND FOR UP TO 36 WELLS.  IN APRIL, SUPERVISORS HAD ORIGINALLY TOLD STAFF MEMBERS TO INCREASE THE REQUIREMENT TO 15 THOUSAND DOLLARS PER WELL, FOR UP TO 6 WELLS PER USER.
