KING CITY’S CHIEF OF POLICE IS ON LEAVE ONCE AGAIN.  THERE IS NO COMMENT FROM THE POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION OR THE KING CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ON THE REASON FOR CHIEF OF POLICE, NICK BALDIVIEZ CURRENT LEAVE.  THE CHIEF WAS PLACED ON LEAVE IN 2010 FOLLOWING ALLEGATIONS OF DRINKING ON THE JOB.  THE CHARGES WERE UNSUBSTANTIATED. IN 2011 BALDIVIEZ WAS SUED FOR ALLEGEDLY FIRING OFFICERS CONNECTED TO THE 2010 COMPLAINT. CHIEF BALDIVIEZ HAS BEEN WITH THE DEPARTMENT OVER 21 YEARS.
