THE  LOCAL  HIGH  SCHOOL AND  COLLEGE STUDENTS,   WHO  WILL  RECEIVE  THE  ANNUAL  UNITED  AG  SCHOLARSHIPS, WILL  BE RECOGNIZED  THIS  WEEKEND  IN  SALINAS.    60  THOUSAND  DOLLARS  IS  DISBURSED  TO  60  STUDENTS  IN  CALIFORNIA  AND  ARIZONA…AND  THIS  YEAR  17  OF  THOSE  STUDENTS  ARE  FROM  MONTEREY  COUNTY.

THIS  YEAR’S  APPLICANTS  HAD  TO  WRITE  AN  ESSAY THAT ADDRESSED THE TOPIC  “WHAT DO YOU  THINK  IS  THE  BIGGEST CHALLENGE  THAT  SPECIALTY  CROPS  FACE,  AND  HOW  CAN  IT  BE  SOLVED?”.      THE  17 LOCAL TEENS  WILL  BE  HONORED  SATURDAY  AT  GINO’S  RESTAURANT  IN  SALINAS

Since 1989, United Agribusiness League and United Agricultural Benefit Trust have awarded more than 865  THOUSAND  DOLLARS in scholarships.
