Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

SAVE  OUR  SHORES PLANS  TO  HOST  2  BEACH  CLEAN-UPS  THIS  WEEKEND  IN  CONJUNCTION  WITH  OTHER  EARTH  DAY FESTIVITIES.      ONE  CLEAN-UP  IS  AT MAIN  AND  COWELL  BEACHES,  WHILE  THE  OTHER  IS  ON  THE  SAN  LORENZO  RIVER AT  THE  WATER  STREET BRIDGE.       THE BEACH EVENT   RUNS  FROM  10  UNTIL  NOON,  WHILE  THE  RIVER CLEAN-UP IS  FROM  9-11  A.M.       THERE  WILL  BE  CHECK-IN  TABLES  AT  THE  ENTRANCE  TO  EACH  CLEAN-UP,   WHERE  PEOPLE  CAN  SIGN  IN  AND  RECEIVE  RE-USEABLE  GLOVES AND  BUCKETS,  AS  WELL  AS  OTHER  CLEAN-UP  MATERIALS.    THE  SANTA  CRUZ  EARTH  DAY  FESTIVAL IS  SLATED TO  RUN  FROM  11-4  NEXT  TO THE  RIVER CLEAN-UP.
