FIREFIGHTERS  ARE  ON  THE  SCENE  OF  AN  APARTMENT  FIRE  IN  SEASIDE.    THE  BLAZE  (WHICH  WAS  CALLED  IN  JUST  BEFORE  11  A.M.  THIS  MORNING)   IS  ON  THE  14  HUNDRED  BLOCK  OF  YOSEMITE  STREET  (BETWEEN  VALMAR  COURT  AND  SONOMA  AVENUE).   

12:20 p.m. update:

A  woman  and  her  3  year-old  child  (both  of  whom  suffered  serious  burns)  were  rescued  from  the  Seaside  apartment,  and  have  been  air-lifted  to  a  bay  area  trauma  center.   The  fire is  now  out,  but  firefighters  are  still on the scene.  Nearby  Highland Elementary School was placed on lock-down for a while due to this fire.
