THE MONTEREY COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT HAS ANNOUNCED FIVE COUNTY BEACHES HAVE HAD ADVISORY SIGNS POSTED AFTER HIGH LEVELS OF BACTERIA WERE FOUND IN SAMPLES TAKEN ON MONDAY.

THE AFFECTED BEACHES ARE:

-         MONTEREY MUNICIPAL BEACH

-         LOVERS POINT, PACIFIC GROVE

-         SUNSET DRIVE AT ASILOMAR

-         SPANISH BAY, PEBBLE BEACH

-         CARMEL BEACH AT OCEAN AVENUE

ADVISORIES WILL REMAIN POSTED UNTIL SAMPLES INDICATE BACTERIA LEVELS ARE SAFE FOR HUMAN CONTACT.
