Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

IN A RECENTLY RELEASED REPORT THE CITY OF SANTA CRUZ WAS SHOWN TO BE SITTING AT 58 PERCENT OF NORMAL RAINFALL FOR THE SEASON.   ACCORDING TO THE SANTA CRUZ WATER DISTRICT THIS IS THE 2nd YEAR IN A ROW BELOW AVERAGE RAIN HAS BEEN SEEN.    IF THE LACK OF RAIN CONTINUES THE CITY COUNCIL CAN CALL FOR A WATER SHORTAGE ALERT EFFECTIVE MAY 1st.

THAT RESTRICTS WATER USE TO:

-         LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION EARLY MORNING AND EVENING

-         PROHIBITS NON-ESSENTIAL USE OF WATER

-         HOSE NOZZLE FOR ALL PURPOSES

-         STEPPED UP WATER WASTE ENFORCEMENT
