TWO PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED YESTERDAY FOLLOWING A CHASE THAT STARTED IN PRUNEDALE AND ENDED AT THE NORTHRIDGE MALL IN SALINAS.     MONTEREY COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES ATTEMPTED TO PULL A CAR OVER FOR RECKLESS DRIVING ON NORTHBOUND HIGHWAY 101.   22-YEAR-OLD CHRISTOPHER MARKERT AND A FEMALE PASSENGER DIDN’T STOP AND INSTEAD SPED OFF.    DEPUTIES FOLLOWED THE SUSPECTS INTO SALINAS WHERE MARKERT CRASHED AT THE NORTHRIDGE SHOPPING CENTER.     THE FEMALE PASSENGER ATTEMPTED TO RUN INTO MACY’S BUT WAS ARRESTED ALONG WITH MARKERT A SHORT TIME LATER.
