ANNUAL CAL-FIRE SERVICE FEES, FOR RURAL HOMEOWNERS IN CALIFORNIA, WILL BE DELAYED TEMPORARILY.  ACCORDING TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY AND FIRE PROTECTION,    87 THOUSAND PETITIONS WERE SENT IN BY HOMEOWNERS,  WHO STATED THAT THEY WERE ERRONEOUSLY BILLED.     825 THOUSAND HOMEOWNERS HAVE BEEN ASSESSED THE 150 DOLLAR ANNUAL FEE.       THAT MONEY WOULD BE USED TO FUND A VARIETY OF FIRE PREVENTION SERVICES.

CAL-FIRE IS  NOW WORKING WITH THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION TO DEVELOP A NEW BILLING SCHEDULE.
