Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

In a report released by the UCSC Campus Police today, it was revealed that the alleged victim of a rape on the campus earlier this month fabricated the crime.      The 21-year-old woman, whose name is not being released, confessed to making up the rape and beating which was said to have occurred in a remote area of the school.       Nighttime escorts and additional patrols by campus police that were put into effect following the alleged crime will be kept up for the time being.      Information about the false report is being forwarded to the Santa Cruz Country District Attorney’s office, and a $5,000 reward for information has been withdrawn.        The woman could face prosecution for staging the crime.
