Put Soledad on the Map, Says Mayor 2/21/13 11a AF

The Mayor of Soledad is calling upon Google to and Apple to make a change to their mapping system.     Mayor Fred Ledesma want the companies to direct visitors of the new Pinnacles National Park through his city, which is hoping that that tourism will help revitalize the area.      The mapping routes currently send drivers through Hollister to get to the Pinnacles if they are coming from the North or South.     Soledad spent $15,000 last month on marketing the city as the “Gateway to the Pinnacles”, and plans to put up a sign saying so.     Ledesma says that if the current routing maps aren’t updated, his city could lose out on millions of dollars of visitor revenue.
