According to a study conducted by researchers at the University of Vermont, Santa Cruz is one of the happiest cities in the country.     The university conducted research using 10 million twitter postings, searching out certain words the rated with a 1 to 10 happiness scale.     The “Geography of Happiness” study found that Santa Cruz is the 5th happiest city in the U.S..    The state of Hawaii is overall the happiest, and Louisiana is at the bottom of the list.     Coastal areas like Santa Cruz also tended to be happier than those that are landlocked.
