Another Campsite Cleanup Planned 2/20/13 11.20a AF

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s office is enlisting the help of Community Corrections inmates to cleanup a campsite tomorrow morning.     At 8am tomorrow (Thursday), the group will clean the creek bed behind Emeline Complex in Santa Cruz, removing trash and things left behind at an illegal campsite there.       Last week residents of that neighborhood alerted local officers of the growing problem and litter in the area.    The Police Department and Sheriff’s office hope that by removing the debris, it will discourage further establishment of campsites in that area.
