Rose Thief Meets Thorny Fate 2/19/13 12.30p AF

A man who was suspected of stealing $7,000 worth of long stemmed roses earlier this month turned himself in to authorities yesterday.     The flowers were stolen when Monterey Bay Bouquet had their main warehouse burglarized on the first of February.     Evidence at the scene led Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies to suspect 35-year-old Saul Rodriguez as the culprit.    Rodriguez turned himself in at 2:30pm yesterday (Monday), and was arrested on burglary charges.     Rodriguez reported that he was unable to sell the roses, which he discarded in a ditch off of Highway 152.
