An intoxicated man was arrested after putting an ax through a city sign on Sunday. 26-year-old Andrew Enriquez ran through the streets of Pacific Grove carrying an ax around 5:30am, when he vandalized the “Welcome to Pacific Grove” sign on Eardly Avenue. Enriquez was found hiding under a car on Central Avenue, and the bottom half of the sign had been tossed further down the street. The cost of fixing the sign is estimated at $1,800. Enriquez was taken into custody on charges of felony vandalism, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.
