Underage Driver Crashes into House 2/4/13 10a AF

An intoxicated underage driver crashed into a Watsonville home Sunday night, causing serious injuries to a woman inside the house.       20-year-old Freedom resident Jose Armonda Lopez was returning from a Superbowl party with his 19-year-old girlfriend and their two young children, when he lost control of the car.      Lopez ran through a fence, and into a house at 321 Lakeview Road.     Several people were inside the home, including 57-year-old Ermila Torres, who was trapped under the car.    Torres was extracted and flown to Valley Medical Center with major injuries.    Lopez’ girlfriend sustained moderate injuries.    Jose Lopez was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on charges of driving under the influence, with an enhancement for blood alcohol level above 0.15%, felony child endangerment, and driving without insurance.
