Racing Stop Yields 3 Arrests 2/4/13 7.40a AF

Three people, including a mother and son, were arrested in Salinas on Sunday after a car was stopped for racing.    Just after 4:20pm Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over a vehicle that was racing another down South Main Street.    The car was driven by Miguel Rodriguez, who was found by officers to be intoxicated and taken into custody.     Also in the vehicle were Joseph Litterine and his mother, Paula Litterine.     Joseph, who was in the front passenger seat, was in possession of two daggers, and was arrested.    His mother was found to be intoxicated as well, and was arrested for obstruction after she challenged deputies during the stop.      All three were booked into Monterey County jail.
