Soquel Tire Slashing Spree 2/3/13 8.55p AF

Many Soquel residents were the victims of vandalism Saturday night when one or more people slashed tires on nearly 80 cars in multiple neighborhoods.     Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies began receiving calls early Sunday morning about the crime wave from residents in neighborhoods off of Soquel Drive, Orchard Street, in the area south of Soquel Village and other streets.     No one witnessed the vandalism, and sheriff’s deputies are conducting a full investigation.     They are also working with CHP officers to determine whether the culprit could be the same person or people who caused an accident on Highway 1 near Orchard Street, after they threw something that hit a car window just after 5am the same morning.
