suicide at SCC jail 01/13/13 11p.m. TDH

the death of a 41-year-old man at santa cruz county jail sunday morning is being treated as a suicide.  the inmate is believed to have hanged himself in his cell sometime in the late morning—he was found at about 11:20 a.m., and despite attempts to revive him, he was pronounced dead.  the man was arrested friday on suspicion of making criminal threats.  his identity will be released pending notification of his family.
