Gas Siphoning in Monterey

The Monterey County Sheriff’s department is warning the public of an increase in gas siphoning from cars in Prunedale.    The department has received multiple calls recently, with the last report being made on Monday.    A woman told Sheriff’s deputies that she saw a car speeding away from her parked vehicle, after finding a gas can and siphon hose.     Deputies suggest writing down the license plate number of any suspicious vehicles, and to immediately report any siphoning events.
