2 murdered in salinas 01/08/13 8a.m. TDH

2-people were killed last night in salinas, marking the first homicides in the city in the new year.  the first shooting occurred on the 9-hundred block of Acosta plaza, at about 8:30 p.m.   a 47-year-old man was found at the scene suffering from several gunshot wounds, he was pronounced dead at the scene.  About an hour later, officers again responded to a shooting, this time on the less-than-1-hundred block of north hebbron avenue.  that victim was also pronounced dead at the scene.  Police did not locate any suspects after the shootings.  Investigators are trying to determine if the incidents are connected.
