SCPD Record number of calls 01/07/13 7:30a.m. TDH

The santa cruz police department saw a record number of calls for service in 2012.  the department received 104-thousand calls last year.    that was a 16-percent increase from 2011.  arrests were up by 53-percent from the previous year, (with more than 83-hundred recorded), and, citations were up as well.  officers wrote more than 11-thousand tickets in 2012, (an increase of almost a-third from 2011).
