Credit Cards Stolen by Doctor Imposter 1/3/13 3.50p AF

Several nurses at Dominican Hospital were robbed by a woman pretending to be a doctor.    At about 12:30pm on Wednesday the suspect walked into the hospital dressed in a white lab coat and carrying a stethoscope.    She entered the employee break room where she stole credit cards from the wallets of 2 nurses.     The woman then left the scene and charged more than $4,000 on the cards, purchasing electronics at Best Buy and other stores.     Santa Cruz County sheriff’s deputies are currently trying to identify the woman, who has only been described as African American, using surveillance tapes from the hospital and the stores where the cards were used.     Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is encouraged to contact the Santa Cruz County sheriff’s office.
