Murder charges reduced 01/03/13 7:45a.m. TDH
A man who was facing murder charges for allegedly contributing to the drug overdose of a woman he met in monterey, has had the charges reduced. 37-year-old Gabriel Antonio martinez was originally charged with manslaughter in the case, which revolves around the 2011 death of 30-year-old lisa groveman from a methadone overdose. Martinez had supplied the drug, leading prosecutors to press for a murder charge. While that request was granted, and martinez had faced life in prison, the charges have been reduced back to manslaughter, which would carry a maximum sentence of 11-years in prison.
