As part of a new law, some of the unspent money that was discovered in the parks budget earlier this year, will go to match funds that were raised to keep the parks open. Local groups raised nearly 3-hundred thousand dollars to keep henry coe open for another year. with the matching state funding, the park is expected to be open and staffed through mid-2014, (even if no other funding becomes available). Multiple audits are still being conducted to discover exactly how 54-million dollars in the parks budget went overlooked at a time the parks faced closure.
