Info sought on Abused dog 12/17/12 7:20p.m. TDH

Authorities in santa cruz are seeking information about the circumstances that left an injured cocker spaniel abused and abandoned. b The dog was found last Wednesday tied to a pole near soquel and front streets.   The black and white elderly cocker spaniel was injured, and had a sign that read “homeless” around its neck.  A good Samaritan saw the dog and brought it to the santa cruz county animal shelter, where it has received care and is recovering.    Animal shelter officials are asking anyone with information about the person that left the dog there to contact them.  Officials also are reminding the public that the santa cruz county animal shelter does have an open door policy and will always accept animals that are unable to be cared for.
