drug sales arrest 12/09/12 8p.m. TDH

a 44-year-old man is facing drug-possession and other charges, after trying to flee from salinas police officers sunday morning.  frank daniel gonzales was contacted by an officer as gonzales was sitting in a vehicle on the 15-hundred block of north sunborn road.  salinas police report that gonzales tried to flee on foot when he saw the officer, but he was apprehended a couple of blocks away.  during the pursuit, gonzales allegedly discarded methamphetamine and cash.  he was booked into monterey county jail on charges of possessing meth and heroin with intent to sell, along with resisting arrest, and parole violation.  salinas police reported that officers were able to recover the drugs that were discarded during the pursuit…but much of the cash was recovered by people in the area, and was not turned in.
