wanted woman shot, arrested 12/02/12 10p.m. TDH
a 30-year-old wanted woman was arrested sunday in the soquel hills area of santa cruz county. Amanda Sloan was shot by a santa cruz county sheriff's deputy during her arrest. she allegedly fired a handgun at deputies from her residence, before coming outside and threatening herself. sloan was shot in the leg, and was taken into custody. she was airlifted to a santa clara county trauma center with non-life threatening injuries. no deputies were injured in the incident. sloan had been wanted on multiple charges, including firing a gun at capitola police officers during a previous attempt to arrest her.
