2 sunday salinas shootings 12/02/12 10p.m. TDH

authorities in salinas are investigating 2 separate shootings that occurred sunday.  in 1-incident, a man was giving some people a ride in his car, when one of them began shooting at the driver.  the shooter is believed to have been a rival gang member--he fled on foot after the assault but was caught nearby.  the driver reportedly tried to run him down, but instead crashed into the front porch of residence on towt street.   in a separate incident, a man was shot after answering his door on the 9-hundred block of rockrose street.   the shooter fled to a waiting getaway car and was not immediately located. anyone with information about either incident is encouraged to contact the salinas police department.
