The santa cruz county fair board received some positive news this week regarding the financial state of the fairgrounds. During its Tuesday meeting, the board was presented with an optimistic view of the situation going forward, as well as plans for increasing revenue in the future. The fair board also approved the donation of a plot of land to the agricultural history project’s partnership with the non-profit mesa verde gardens. The land between the ocean speedway and the pre-school on the grounds will be dedicated to a community garden. And, the dates for next year’s fair were announced. The 2013 santa cruz county fair is set to be held from September 10th through the 15th. This weekend the santa cruz heritage foundation is holding its “holiday craft fair” at the fairgrounds.
