Cap. Woman arrested: elder abuse (fraud) 11/29/12 7p.m. TDH

A 53-year-old woman was taken into custody Wednesday on charges of elder abuse.  Capitola resident morgan Rebecca stuart is accused of taking advantage of a 78-year-old woman, who ended up giving stuart a brand new vehicle and more than 100-thousand dollars in cash.  Stuart maintains that the money and car were gifts to help her start a business (and pay medical bills), however the victim’s family alleges that stuart manipulated the friendship, and took advantage of the elderly watsonville resident.    Stuart surrendered to authorities at santa cruz county jail after a warrant was issued for her arrest.
