monterey fire injures 2 11/25/12 10p.m. TDH

2-monterey residents suffered burn injuries when their house caught fire saturday morning.   the flames erupted at the sloat avenue house just after 7 a.m.   a male resident was airlifted out of the county to be treated for 2nd and 3rd degree burns.   a female resident was taken to community hospital of the monterey peninsula to be treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.  the house sustained severe damage, but firefighters from multiple departments were able to extinguish the blaze before it spread to any other houses.   the cause of the fire is under investigation.
