Arrests Made in Homeless Murder 11/19/12 12:45p AF
Santa Cruz Police officers have arrested 5 suspects thought to be involved in the murder of a transient man on Friday night. 26-year-old Jeremiah Long, 21-year-old Shaelyn Gonzales, 41-year-old Michael Hudson, 43-year-old Tina Anderson, 31-year-old Jason Weiland were all arrested over the course of the last 3 days. All five of the individuals are considered transients as well. The 51-year-old victim’s identity has not yet been released to the public, though police are currently trying to find relatives of the man. An autopsy to determine the exact cause of death is scheduled to be performed today. Investigators are still unsure what the motives may be, but believe the homicide may have resulted from an altercation. This marks the 3rd homicide in the city of Santa Cruz this year.
