2 promoted to sergeant (SCPD) 11/18/12 TDH

a couple of santa cruz police officers have been promoted to the rank of sergeant.  sergeants david forbus and jose garcia will be assigned to the department's operations division.  both are 12-year-veterans of the Santa cruz police department.    sergeant forbus has worked in patrol, investigations, on the countywide narcotics task force, and was one of the founding members of the SWAT team.     Sergeant Garcia was also one of those original members.  he is also a certified hostage negotiator and is a handler for one of the department's k-9 officers.
