fraud, drug theft allegations at prison 11/17/12 TDH

an investigation has been launched into alleged wrongdoing by medical officials at a soledad prison facility.  the investigation by state and federal authorities is focused on the diversion of drugs that were prescribed to inmates, as well as falsifying documents to cover it up.   several nurses at the state correctional training facility are being investigated, as is the director of nursing.  authorities are seeking to have the director's medical license suspended or even revoked.  the investigation is on-going.
