FBI arrests salinas gang member 11/12/12 7p.m. TDH

A salinas man known to authorities as a high-ranking member of the nuestra familia criminal street gang was arrested last week.   The f-b-I led the effort to arrest    45-year-old alberto larez, who is known by his nickname “bird.”   He was found at a residence in red bluff, (south of redding).  Authorities seized drugs, cash, and weapons during the operation.   Larez was released from federal prison in 2010, after fulfilling a sentence agreed to under a plea deal.  However, authorities suspect larez has engaged in a series of criminal activities after his release.  His arrest came with the arrest of 17 other nuestra familia members, who were targeted by the federal operation.
