Soledad public back-pay controversy 11/08/12 7p.m. TDH
The soledad city council has delayed indefinitely a vote on whether or not to return some back-pay to certain city administrators. The decision to pay back a percentage of pay that was cut from the city manager and other positions drew scrutiny from the soledad police officers association and others, who argued against the move, given that many city employees have taken pay cuts and furloughs. The matter was expected to be voted on Wednesday, but the motion was delayed and has not been re-scheduled. City leaders expect to hold a public meeting on the issue in the upcoming weeks.
