Stolen jewelry bail increase 09/19/12 8a.m. TDH
A 46-year-old man accused of trying to sell stolen jewelry was remanded to custody yesterday, when a santa cruz county superior court judge raised increased the man’s bail. Lawrence john king had been free, after posting his previous bail amount. But that was increased to 250-thousand dollars yesterday, when it was determined that king had 2 prior felony strikes on his record, (which requires a higher bail amount). King is accused of burglarizing a santa cruz home this past july and trying to sell the stolen jewelry at a local pawn shop.
