A MAN RECEIVED 1 YEAR JAIL TIME FOR DRUNKENLY DRIVING HIS CAR AND HITTING A POLICE OFFICER ON NEW YEARS’ EVE. POLICE OFFICERS NOTICED KEITH JUSTIN SHERWOOD HAVING A VERY HARD TIME WALKING TOWARD HIS CAR ON FRONT STREET, AND ALTHOUGH INSTRUCTED TO NOT START HIS VEHICLE HE DID ANYWAY, HITTING OFFICER SCOTT CHRISTIE IN THE HAND AND ARM. IN A HEARING THAT TOOK PLACE TODAY, SHERWOOD WAS SENTENCED TO 1 YEAR JAIL TIME, AS WELL AS 3 MORE YEARS OF FORMAL PROBATION.
