Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

Three people were arrested and one cited yesterday in a move made by the Salinas Police Department’s Violence Suppression Unit.      At 3:30pm VSU officers pulled over a car driven by 18-year-old Veronica Navarro, who was unlicensed, with passenger, 18-year-old Cesar Gomar.    Gomar is a known gang member and officers discovered a loaded .32 caliber handgun next to his seat.     Gomar was arrested on multiple firearm possession charges.   Navarro was cited.     A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested at Navarro’s residence for drug sales.  A short while later, VSU officers stopped 19-year-old Jose Matias, another known gang member.    Marijuana, Cocaine, and digital scales were found in his Matias’ car.    He was taken to Monterey County jail for drug transportation and a parole violation.
