Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

LOCAL THEME PARK GILROY GARDENS GAVE THE CITY OF GILROY A CHECK FOR 130 THOUSAND DOLLARS DURING THE LAST CITY COUNCIL MEETING, SPARKING DEBATE ON HOW THE MONEY SHOULD BE SPENT.      ORIGINALLY, STAFF DECIDED WITHOUT THE COUNCIL’S APPROVAL TO PUT THE MONEY INTO A TRUST FUND FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE PARK.         COUNCILMEN PERRY WOODWARD AND BOB DILLON DISAGREED, THINKING THE MONEY SHOULD GO TOWARD PAYING BACK DEBT FROM BUYING THE PARK.      THE CHECK WAS SET TO BE OFFICIALLY DISCUSSED AT A FUTURE CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE, WHICH IS YET TO BE DETERMINED.
