A Salinas man is in custody after allegedly attempting to run over his wife with a car during a disagreement.     The Salinas Police responded to a report of domestic disturbance on the 100 block of Rico Street around 7 pm last night.    Officers determined that 58-year-old Manuel Valdez and his wife were arguing outside their residence, when Valdez got in to his vehicle and sped toward his wife in an alleged attempt to run her over.    He was unsuccessful in his effort, but Salinas police report that there were visible skid marks in the parking lot of the residence where the incident occurred.     Valdez then drove away, and was contacted by police while still in his vehicle.    He was taken into custody on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence.
