Gilroy Police and other agencies have launched a full investigation into last weeks shooting death of 3-year-old Preston Orlando. The toddler was the son of a San Jose Police officer, though investigators say the gun was not issued by the San Jose Police department. Police are proceeding with caution in their investigation, as the case is a sensitive one. It has not yet been confirmed whether anyone else was present in the child’s room at the time the gun went off, nor how the gun ended up there. They have no reason to believe the incident is anything but a terrible accident.
