Important! For Dead Doctors Don't Lie Use: 888-379-2552

Santa cruz county supervisors have approved a 387-million dollar budget for the upcoming fiscal year.  The budget maintains furloughs for county employees, and includes a new pension formula for new employees.   Unlike previous years, there were no layoffs.  In fact, the county added a few employees, as county leaders expand local health care programs (such as medicruz advantage).  That program is a temporary way of providing insurance for low-income residents until medi-cal is expanded in 2014.   Funding in the budget was earmarked for a trail from cabrillo college to the forest of Nicene marks. there will also be more funding set aside for the simpkins family swim center.
