Furloughs proposed for cal-fire 06/19/12 11p.m. TDH

Governor brown has announced a proposal to furlough state firefighters.   Brown wants fire fighters with       cal-fire to take 1-unpaid day off every month (except during peak fire season).  That would save an estimated     6-point-5 million dollars annually.   the furloughs would be implemented on a staggered schedule, so no fire station would ever go unstaffed.  response times are not expected to be affected under the proposal, which must be approved by firefighters.
