A  57  YEAR-OLD  WELL-KNOWN  MOTORCYCLE  RACERSAFETY  INSTRUCTOR,  AND  MOTORCYCLISTS’  MENTOR  HAS  DIED.      SCOTTS  VALLEY  RESIDENT  GARY  JAEHNE  WAS  RIDING  HIS  MOTORCYCLE  BETWEEN  PESCARDERO  AND  LA  HONDA  ON  PESCADERO  CREEK  ROAD  WHEN  HE  LOST  CONTROL  OF  THE  BIKE  AND  WENT  70 FEET  FEET  DOWN  AN  EMBANKMENT.  ALTHOUGH  HE  WAS  CONSCIOUS  AND  BREATHING  WHEN  HE  WAS  FOUND  BY  RESCUERS,  HE  WAS  PRONOUNCED  DEAD  A  SHORT  TIME  LATER  AFTER  BEING  AIR-LIFTED  TO  STANFORD  MEDICAL  CENTER.
