A 42-year-old Hollister woman was sentenced friday to life in prison, for killing her 18-month old baby in 2008.   Cheryl busch had originally pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the murder, however after spending a year in a state hospital, she was deemed competent to stand trial in a san benito county courtroom.  Busch pleaded guilty to the shooting death in april.  She will be eligible for parole in 25 years.  Prosecutors maintained that Cheryl busch killed her child because she was jealous of the attention that the baby was receiving from her father, busch’s husband.
