bicycle fatality 05/04/12 1100 e.a.

the california highway patrol is investigating the death of a bicyclist earlier this morning.  just before 10:45 a.m., a mangled bicycle and an injured dog were reported in bushes along highway 1, one mile south of bonny doon road.  the bicyclist was found dead at the scene.  a number of emergency personnel are on the scene to determine how the fatality occurred.  the identity of the bicyclist has not yet been released.
