A  TEMPORARY  MEDIAN  BARRIER  IS  SCHEDULED  TO  BE  CONSTRUCTED  SOON  ON  HIGHWAY  17.    CAL-TRANS  SAYS  THEY’VE  BEEN  PLANNING TO  INSTALL  THE  TEMPORARY  CONCRETE  BARRIER  AT  LAUREL  CURVE  FOR  SEVERAL  YEARS,  BUT  HAVE SPEEDED  UP THE  PROCESS  IN  RESPONSE  TO THE  RECENT  FATAL  INJURIES  THAT  HAVE  OCCURRED  IN  THAT AREA.     MID-DAY  AND  OVERNIGHT  ROADWORK  IS  NOW  SCHEDULED  TO  BEGIN  TOMORROW  (WEDNESDAY,  MARCH  22ND).
