The Live Oak School board voted unanimously on Tuesday to pass a budget that will outline expenditures for the 2012 -2013 school year. Expenditures are expected to increase about 25 thousand dollars from last year to 14.725 million dollars. Two state tax initiatives on the November ballot could effect school funding, including Proposition 98 which, if passed, would increases taxes on citizens with an income of more than 250 thousand dollars annually, as well as increase the sales tax by one quarter cent. The school board also voted to approve a two year contract that would cut two student days from the school year if the proposition fails to pass.
